SKY customers now have access to contents of Escola Plus program and TV Educação channel
SKY Brasil launches educational program Escola Plus for SKY Play subscribers and TV Educação educational television programming, available through Brazil’s public school closures due to COVID-19. All subscribers, pre-paid and post-paid, can access the educational programming at no cost. The initiative aims to support distance learning, in an interactive, audiovisual and entertaining way.
DIRECTV GO Mexico integrates the best educational entertainment from Escuela Plus, in support of families during the contingency
As a way to contribute to school continuity for families that are staying at homes, DIRECTV GO strengthens its commitment as a source of information, entertainment and education, by launching Aprendiendo con Escuela Plus (“Learning with Escuela Plus”), a set of content with the best educational entertainment for children, available on April 1, for parents to share it with their children anytime, anywhere.

DIRECTV Sports will start broadcasting part of their regular programming “from home"
In order to continue offering the most complete sports coverage and in support of government measures and recommendations within the region, the sports channel will begin to transmit some of its programs in a “from home" format. Through the “from home” format, DIRECTV Sports will reinforce the measures indicated by local authorities and international health organizations, and with the participation of DIRECTV Sports' journalists, the clients of the TV service will have all the sports news at their disposal, including Fútbol Total, Al Mediodía se Habla Así, and De Fútbol Se Habla Asi and CONEXIÓN DIRECTV.
AT&T Creates $10 Million Fund to Support Parents, Teachers & Students Throughout COVID-19 School Closures
AT&T is creating a Distance Learning and Family Connections Fund to give parents, students and teachers tools they need for at-home learning. The fund also will provide resources to maintain meaningful connections and bonding opportunities for those isolated from family and friends. The $10 million Distance Learning and Family Connections Fund launched with its first contribution of $1 million to Khan Academy. This collaboration will improve and expand online learning resources to meet growing demand from parents, teachers and students, including those who rely on free resources and need Khan Academy the most. It will also support the development of new resources designed specifically for COVID-19 school closures. Available in more than 40 languages, Khan Academy offers educational practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empowers students to study at home. Remote Working for Employees
As of Monday, March 16th, employees from Vrio, and its brands DIRECTV in Latin America, and SKY in Brasil who have the possibility of carrying out their tasks remotely will work from their homes. In certain cases, in which this option is not a possibility all the precautions indicated by the Global Health Authorities and Ministries of Health of each country will be taken into consideration in order to minimize the risk of contagion.
Supporting our Frontline
We have implemented new policies and guidelines to help protect our employees who are on the frontline serving subscribers or who can’t do their jobs from home – broadcasting teams, IT services, customer care and field technicians. While their mission is essential to keep our subscribers connected, we also recognize that there is a balance between providing service and keeping frontlines safe. To accomplish that balance, we have provided our teams with new policies and procedures, leveraging technology, incorporating social distancing, and ensuring they feel comfortable serving subscribers at their businesses and in their homes, while delivering on our commitment to service and safety.
SKY Brasil Launches More than 90 Channels for its Subscribers
As of Sunday, March 15th, SKY opened the signal, at no additional cost, of dozens of channels offering different kinds of programming to its subscribers. This initiative aims to bring TV content, information and entertainment directly to those who will stay at home in all the cities throughout Brazil.
DIRECTV Latin America Releases More Programming for its Subscribers
The company has expanded its entertainment offering, at no additional cost, and it will add, starting this week, a greater number of signals to its programming. Subscribers will have access, until March 31 to up to 91 channels, depending on the country where they are located. All these benefits are being offered in addition to the streaming programming offer that DIRECTV provides through the DIRECTV GO app.
The TV-Screen as a Source of Communication for Public Health Announcements
We are transmitting in every DIRECTV prevention and public announcements related to the virus across our screens. We also recorded our own spot with our DIRECTV Sports journalists, who under the slogan #quedateentucasa (which translates to #stayathome), are making citizens aware about the importance of not leaving their homes during this time.
DIRECTV Latin America, Disney, National Geographic, Torneos and Takeoff Media Open ESCUELA Plus Educational Channel to DIRECTV Subscribers
In light of possible school closures in several countries of the region as a consequence of the spread of the Coronavirus, DIRECTV announced together with its partners that it will release during 30 days, starting on March 17 the access to the educational content channel Escuela Plus (804). This measure will benefit each and every client located in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. The users at these locations will be able to access the channel for free. Almost 10,000 schools have access to this channel as part of the Escuela Plus Corporate Social Responsibility program.
